Happy New Year 2026!
In 2025, we selected local artist Rick Sharp to create a ten-panel monument mural that chronologically depicts the rich history of the peoples who have shaped the Carpinteria Valley, one of the most desirable places on Earth to live. We are pleased to share that Mr. Sharp has completed this work beautifully.
Our next step is to install the murals, pending approval from the Carpinteria City Council, at the Seal Fountain on Linden Avenue. We remain hopeful that the Seal Fountain location will be approved, as Linden Avenue has been the heart of Carpinteria’s commercial and civic life since the train depot was established there in 1887.
A monument of this significance deserves a prominent and meaningful setting, within a block of the newly remodeled Linden Square, the iconic Palms redevelopment, and across the street from the Lynda Fairly Community Art Center. The Carpinteria Cultural Foundation (CCF) will advocate strongly to see this vision realized.
Once installed, the completed murals will be gifted to the community at no cost. They stand as a testament to the dedication of CCF, the extraordinary work of Mr. Sharp, and, most importantly, the generosity of you, our supporters.
Some of you give monthly, others contribute periodically, and many support our annual year-end appeal. Every donation, no matter the size, makes a meaningful difference. If you would like to help CCF continue creating lasting monuments that honor and celebrate the Carpinteria Valley, we invite you to support our work.
Thank you for being part of this journey.
